Inmate Programs

Our mission at the Leon County Detention Facility is to help reduce recidivism by providing inmates the necessary tools to achieve attainable goals in today’s society. For that reason, the Leon County Detention Facility offers educational and self-help programs to assist our incarcerated population with gaining control of their lives and encourage behavioral change through education. Although participation in these programs isn’t mandatory, unless court-ordered, the programs division highly recommends that inmates participate in the courses provided at the detention facility. Furthermore, the programs division continually strives to develop professional rapport to aid the inmates with future endeavors.

Our programs and services are structured to enhance the opportunities of inmates through the development of their skills, abilities, and strengths. We are partnered with community organizations, through a case management platform, to provide support systems and service during an inmate’s sentence, while detained, as well as resources for when an inmate is released.
